ABU YUSUF BILAL ISMAIL

Bilal Ismail memorized the Qur’aan while studying at school and went on to do a diploma in Computer Science in 1999 as well as qualifying as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. He was accepted into the Islamic University of Madeenah in 2001 where he completed his Diploma in Arabic followed by a B.A. in Islamic Law from the faculty of Sharee’ah. After graduating, he returned to South Africa where he has been conducting ongoing weekly Fiqh, Hadeeth and Tafseer classes independently in Durban; and is employed as an instructor for the Al Kauthar Institute which hosts University level weekend courses internationally. He is also head of the Students’ Guild which provides distance learning for higher Islamic studies.

ABU FAATIMA MUSAAID DAWOOD

Musaaid Dawood is a graduate of the University of Madeenah University and is currently based in Durban. He has independent ongoing hadeeth classes at a local Musjid in Resevoir Hills, Durban; Tafseer lessons on a local Islamic Radio station and he is currently also a tutor for Deen Class.

AREEB ISLAM

Areeb Islam is a former Pastor who now dedicates a lot of his time as a Muslim Chaplain serving the community of Durban. He is also employed by IPCI and is involved in da’wah. Areeb Islam is also a tutor for Islamic courses held by Deen Class in the field of conparitive religion and da’wah.

ABU MUAWIYA ISMAIL KAMDAR

Born in Durban, Abu Muawiyah began his study of Islam at the tender age of thirteen. In 2006, he completed a seven year Islamic scholarship at a local Darul Uloom. In his quest for the truth and authentic Islamic knowledge, Abu Muawiyah continued studying Islam and sat with scholars from a variety of Madhabs and sects. His most notable teacher is Dr Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips. Abu Muawiyah served as an Arabic and Islamic Studies Educator at Ihsaan Boys College is Durban, South Africa in 2008, and as an English and Social Studies Educator at the Al-Fajr International School in Chennai, India for part of 2009. He is a part time Arabic language tutor for Deen Class. Abu Muawiyah currently resides in Durban, South Africa with his wife and two sons.

About Us

Deen Class is an educational organisation which runs ongoing classes and courses in the Durban area, South Africa. We currently run courses in Fiqh, Tafseer and Arabic, as well as other evening courses on miscellaneus topics.

Our classes are mostly for adults and teens and are very interactive and are set in a relaxed environment. All classes cater for males and females, with separation. All tutors are qualified in their specific fields, who have either studied abroad, or had extensive experience in the subject which they teach.
